Temu is an expansive online retail platform that provides a diverse range of products, spanning from car accessories and clothing to electronics, outdoor furniture, power tools, and baby clothes, among others. One distinctive feature of Temu is its affordability, with many products on the site being offered at exceptionally low prices. For instance, sunglasses can be purchased for $2, necklaces for $1, and glow-in-the-dark pet collars for $3. Essentially, nearly anything one can think of is available on Temu for less than $30.

While some may draw comparisons between Temu and other platforms like Shein, Wish, and AliExpress, Temu sets itself apart. Unlike Shein, which predominantly focuses on fashion, Temu allows customers to purchase a wide array of products. Moreover, while Wish and AliExpress are associated with lower-quality items, extended shipping times, and limited item return windows, Temu aims to offer a different experience.

Launched in late 2022, Temu quickly climbed to the top of the App Store and Play Store's shopping categories. Its popularity surged due to effective advertising and the allure of its competitive prices. Regarding the legitimacy of Temu as a website, it hinges on the interpretation of the term 'legitimate.' Most products on Temu are indeed real, meaning customers receive them, typically within a 10-day timeframe.

However, tech products on Temu are not from recognized brands unless indicated by a blue checkmark on the product listing, with Xiaomi and Lenovo being the currently verified brands. Concerns have been raised about the authenticity of certain products, as an HP representative expressed uncertainty about the HP items on Temu. Some customers have reported discrepancies between the appearance or quality of items received and their expectations based on the website.

To address delays, Temu offers a $5 credit for packages with standard shipping and a $13 credit for those with express shipping. Additionally, the Purchase Protection Program assures customers a full refund if items are returned within 90 days of purchase due to discrepancies in appearance, damage, or non-delivery.

Dulu di kalangan ahli seni rupa ada semacam pandangan bahwa lukisan yg baik itu ialah lukisan  yg realis atau naturalis. Di Asia, pada masa kejayaannya, tidak demikian. Seperti pernah kami kemukakan  seni  lukis Asia, khususnya Persia, cenderung menolak realisme dan naturalisme Eropa. Banyak seni dekoratif muncul. Dalam seni Islam misalnya, banyak seniman yg  dipengaruhi oleh wawasan estetika Al-Farabi dan Ibn Sina.

Menurut Ibn Sina  masalah estetis seniman dalam berkarya ialah bagaimana mentransformasikan iltizat (pengalaman estetis) ke dalam obyek visual, dengan dikemas dengan cara stilisasi (tahsin) dan deformasi (taqbih). Hasilnya disebut mutabaqah yaitu keseimbangan antara ide atau rasa dengan ungkapan formal karya seni.

Menurut dua filosof itu, karya seni bersifat imaginatif mutakhayyil). Untuk mencapai tujuannya seniman tak perlu meniru total bentuk obyek-obyek. Seni yang baik tidak dimaksudkan untuk mengungkapkan kenyataan, tetapi bagaimana seniman dengan imaginasi  mengungkapkan aspek-aspek dari penikmatan yg menyentuh atau memberikan kenikmatan estetis. Kata mutakhayyil (imaginatif) dan takhyil (imaginasi) berasal dari akkar kata khayal atau kha ya la, yg artinya membuat percaya.

Al-Farabi mengartikan karya seni sebagai mutakhayyil, yaitu obyek pengetahuan/penikmatan yg dapat ditangkap secara langsung oleh jiwa tanpa berpikir lama. Kata takhyil atau imaginasi diartikan sbg proses kejiwaan yang menyebabkan suatu karya seni menjadi imaginatif, sugestif dan evokatif. Kata mimesis sudah terkandung dalam kata imaginasi.
